The Girl with the List: A Cover Reveal and the True Stories That Inspired It

When Survival Means Deciding Who Lives

While researching for my upcoming novel, I immersed myself in firsthand testimonies from Polish women forced to serve as in-house servants to SS officers living just outside Auschwitz.

These women weren’t prisoners behind barbed wire—but they weren’t free either.

They cooked meals while transports arrived at the gates in cattle cars. They cared for children while smoke rose in the distance. And every day, survival required moral compromise.

The Girl with the List is inspired by those accounts. It follows a young Polish woman taken into an SS household and punished for defiance, only to be forced into a deadly role within Auschwitz where her skills determine who is deemed “fit” to live another day.

Every SS servant was forced to make immoral choices to save herself.

In this story, those choices decide the fate of others.

One of those lives is the man she loves—and saving him may cost her everything.

In the end, the question becomes unavoidable: Would you save the person you love — or yourself?

The Girl with the List is now available for preorder for readers drawn to morally complex, deeply researched WWII fiction.
